Biology

Biology is the study of life, from the simplest one cell organism to the human being. We will explore the questions of what constitutes life, how it originated on earth, and how it developed. We will look at the intricate structure of the cell and the amazing interdependence of an entire ecosystem. Then we will look at the major groups of organisms, seeing how they build in complexity, leading up to the crown of creation, humans. The entire second semester will be dedicated to the human body and how it works. Through this course, students will gain a uniquely Catholic understanding of life, creation, and our position within it, and learn how it works so as to be good stewards of it.
